Ministries & Outreach

Building & Grounds Team has oversight on all property matters of VSUMC, providing for maintenance and upkeep, as well as any specific building and maintenance projects.

Care Team meets weekly to pray for our congregation and community and to reach out with greetings on our behalf.

Discipleship Team is focused on the variety of ways we help children, youth, and adults to grow in faith. Sunday school is certainly a part of it, but also exploring other ways to build faithful followers of Jesus Christ.

Evangelism/Community Connection Team helps the congregation find ways to reach out to new people (folks who aren’t connected to another church) to invite them into relationship with Christ and the church. 

Fun and Fellowship Team focuses on creating opportunities for the congregation to connect with one another, as well as providing “non-threatening” opportunities to invite friends/family to have some fun with VSUMC.

Memorial Committee designates and approves memorial fund for specific projects around the church.

Missions & Health Team is focused on serving the larger world through hands-on service and through financial support, as well as helping our congregation and our community engage in better health practices.

Nominations and Leadership Development Team has the responsibility to nominate people from our church members and participants to serve in various roles within our structure.

Sunday School Teachers/Assistants are needed to teach and serve at all age levels. Particular focus right now on children’s ministry Sunday morning and Vacation Bible School.

Worship Team serves to assist in developing and enhancing our worship experience, both special holiday events and Sunday to Sunday experiences.

Mini Food Pantries are used every day!  We need a team of folks set to check and restock our mini food pantries on a regular basis.
